INIATIVES
NOMA Pittsburgh's initiatives create pathways into architecture and design while supporting students, emerging professionals, and the communities we serve. Through education, mentorship, professional development, and strategic partnerships, we are advancing equity and expanding opportunity across the Pittsburgh region.

Project Pipeline
Project Pipeline is NOMA's signature youth outreach program that introduces middle and high school students to architecture and design through hands-on learning, creative problem-solving, and mentorship from architects and designers.
Students explore the built environment through interactive design challenges, develop creative and critical thinking skills, and discover career opportunities in architecture, design, engineering, construction, and related fields.
Scholarship Opportunities
NOMA Pittsburgh invests in the next generation of architects and designers by connecting students with scholarships and financial assistance that support academic achievement, professional growth, and leadership development.
Through chapter awards and partnerships, we help reduce financial barriers and create opportunities for students to pursue their educational and professional goals.

Exam Resources
Licensure is an important milestone in an architect's professional journey. NOMA Pittsburgh provides resources, mentorship, and peer support to help emerging professionals prepare for the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) and navigate the path to licensure.
By connecting candidates with study groups, educational resources, and experienced professionals, we help build confidence throughout the licensure process.
NOMA PGH Partnerships
Creating lasting impact requires meaningful partnerships. NOMA Pittsburgh collaborates with schools, universities, design firms, community organizations, public agencies, and industry partners to expand access to architecture and design.
Together, we develop programs, share resources, and create opportunities that strengthen communities while advancing equity within the profession.
Social Impact Design
Neighborhood Allies’ Social Impact Design Program translates community visions and objectives into architectural design packages that ensure design and development projects are focused around what the community wants and needs.
The Social Impact Design program advances placemaking, place-keeping, and community-driven real estate projects through an Equity-Centered Community Development lens – a process that is people centered and encourages designers to co-create with the community by empowering those who have historically been left behind.
